Crockery Update

It's high time I changed up our crockery! 99.9999999999999% of our china is white and the other .000000000000001% with some sort of design is also predominantly white, so it's time to inject a little colour into our lives..........................however, this is not as easy as it sounds. I seem pulled towards the white, I may be tempted by a light cream colour or white with maybe a little Scandinavian style blue design....................... But I keep edging back to the safety of the white.

So jumping out of my comfort zone just a little bit, here are the ones I've narrowed it down to .........

This one is Indigo by nkuku - I love the blue tear drops on deep edges but I still have my white 'safe zone' for the food presentation!

This design I'd love for summer meals - the colours remind me of the Med and al fresco lunches - I might just get a few of these instead of a full set. These are Acores from Anthropologie.

This is perfect for me. It's stoneware so pretty tough, the design is contemporary, it reminds me of plates we used in Iceland and although it's not white, it's near enough for me to be happy - whilst injecting some colour - all be it grey! It can be found at Cox & Cox

And my final choice is from Toast, totally out of my comfort zone but there is something in the random 'wobble' of the china edge that I love. The colours are not something I would usually go for but ......... the pastels are very pleasing.

However, I might just do what we did when first setting up home together - unable to decide on a colour or design that we both liked, we went to a china shop and picked out every design or colour that caught our eye. The only stipulation was every plate, bowl or cup had to be a different design - we ended up with a very eclectic dinning set but it strangely all seemed to go together in a random sort of way! I still have some of those plates.........

Have a great day
