Delicious Creamed Cabbage

I made up this recipe because I was suddenly fed up with boiled cabbage and wanted to do something a little more tasty with it to accompany my grilled pork chop!

So a little grated ginger and garlic later we had something really rather tasty! Surprisingly tasty actually and a dish that I will be making again.

First I chopped up a small onion and started to gently fry it in a little butter. Whilst the onion was cooking I grated some ginger - about a thumbnail size - and a glove of garlic. Add to the pan when the onions have started to soften

Shred up the cabbage and add to the pan. Stir and shake the pan to get the flavours into the cabbage

Cook the cabbage until it starts to soften and then pour in some cream - as much or as little as you want. I used about 100ml of double cream.

Gently heat through, season with salt and pepper and serve on hot plates.

If you want a little edge to it try adding a little lemon juice or a pinch of chilli flakes.

Have a great day
