Winter Flowers -

My beautiful winter hyacinths have finally finished flowering ......

Here's a reminder of how beautiful they were - and their scent was amazing.......

 Hyacinth

So they have now been replaced with buckets of white flowering hellebore.  There's no scent to these flowers but they are just as lovely to look at and they keep on flowering so you get loads of flowers for your money.....

I sort of went about choosing these flowers the wrong way!

A few weeks ago the florist, down the road from where I work, was selling off the buckets she used last year to display her flowers - hardly any wear or damage to them - so I bought just a few (honestly it was just a couple I swear!).......but what to do with them? I hate to miss a bargain......

So now I was looking for something to put in them - so I could justify my purchase...... I though of using them around the kitchen for utensils etc, or sewing/craft storage but then I saw these hellebore, at our local nursery, and their plant pots were just the right size - bucket filling problem solved!

And also when they have finished flowering they can be planted out in the garden so we can admire the foliage throughout the summer and have more flowers next winter......

Have a good Tuesday and go bring some flowers into the house!

..... or office,

it brightens up a winters day especially now all those Christmas decorations have gone away for another year......
