It's a cold and frosty morning.....

We woke to my perfect morning - the sun was shining, the sky was blue and clear, the air was cold, crisp and chilled your nose when you breathed in deeply, and everything was covered in a deep hard frost.

We very rarely get snow in this part of the world and a heavy frost is much more likely - although we haven't had much this winter - yet!

So, because of that and also the beauty of it all, I went for a quick walk before breakfast and took a few photo's......

I seemed to be the only one out and about so far this morning, although many of the houses had their fires burning with a steady stream of smoke spiralling up into the sky.....

When I got back Andrew and Charlie (my eldest stepson who's been staying with us over Christmas) have headed out to the butchers to purchase everything needed for a full British fry-up! A hastily scribbled note has been left for me - informing that they were off to gather sausages, bacon, eggs, bread, black pudding, mushrooms etc. etc.......

I've decided to make a big pan of hot chocolate for them when they return after their walk into the village.....

and then I'm going to let them cook, I'll light the fires and snuggle down with a good book.......

have a lovely day - stay warm
