We're Walking.....

A few months ago we 'babysat' Albert

.................. and, obviously, had to walk him every night.

Usual view when walking Albert

We rediscovered some great places to go near our house and have tried to keep up the habit of an evening walk now were 'dog free' - 'dogless' - 'de-dogged' well you know what I mean.....anyway...

......It's really a great way for us to get some exercise and also have a catch up without the inevitable phone ringing or neighbourly visits.

One of our favourite places to walk is some woods just down the valley from us and last week I decided to take my camera & see what shots I could get..

we follow the banks of this wide stream through the woods

This is one of my favourite parts of the walk - where the stream is split off into two to take some of the water to a waterwheel of an old flour mill...

We haven't has much, if any rain, these last few months and the stream is right down - normally there is a lot more water flowing over this fish pass....

Andrew crossing the rickety wooden bridge...

I love this - a tree came down across the path in the storms last winter and instead of hauling it away the just cutout the part across the path - ingenious!

The view I looked at most on the walk!!!!

Found the mushrooms growing - loads of them - I wonder if they are edible? can I cook them with cream & garlic? Mmmmm....... have to find out!

Happy Wednesday x
